Many people think of Derby Week as nothing but a lot of fuss over a horse race. For train buffs, it provides an opportunity to see passenger trains arrive and depart with guests coming to town for the derby.
Those who have attended MCR conventions in Louisville may remember some of the locations where train pictures were taken.

The pullman cars served the passengers as their hotel while in Louisville.
Norfolk and Southern brought passengers into Louisville, also. Charlie Buccola captured these shots. They parked their train at the Norfolk Southern yard in Western Louisville which was a tour for the 2001 MCR Convention in Louisville.

The Governor's Special provided by CSX transports guests from Frankfort, KY where they attended the State Derby Breakfast to Louisville for Derby Day festivities.
